Chester The Mimic

WoodProejct_SideView.HEIC

As part of a woodworking project, I created a large wooden chest out of plywood and adorned it with accessories to make it a functional piece of furniture.

Dimensions: 2' x 1.5' x 2'

Bound By Thread

I chose to draw my class ring suspended by a piece of thread to be a culmination piece of all I learned of hyperrealistic drawings. The entire piece was drawn in a variety of pencils to capture each shade correctly.

Dishonorable Duel

To get a better understanding of drawing concept art and particularly the human body in action, I drew a scene of two of my friends fighting. For this piece, I used various graphite and charcoal pencils to get a wide range of shading. The main inspiration for this piece was a recent trip to the renaissance fair in Houston.

Distant Admiration

For this piece, I utilized water soluble graphite as the medium instead of pencil to experiment with art mediums I was not familiar with. Alongside this, I chose myself as the subject facing away as I had not been proficient with drawing faces in the slightest at the time of this piece.

Silent Recognition

Using only pencil I decided to draw a friend to practice drawing some anatomy. At the time I was inspired from rodeo art contests so I chose to have him wear a cowboy hat.

The Peach

Using various color pencils, I drew a peach from observation in an effort to get an idea of how an array of colors are used to portray everyday objects.
